Cellphones are becoming as integral part of our lives. It’s not surprising that groundbreaking study published explains mobile technologies has definitely changed the way we work, love and live. Commissioned by Motorola company the new study takes behavioral researchers to 9 big cities around the world, from New York to London. By using a combination of personal interviews, the field studies, and observation, the study has identified a set of behaviors that reveal dramatic force of cellphones have on the way people interact. This study is found that cellphones give people a new personal power, enabling unprecedented mobility and enables them to conduct business on the road. Interesting enough, the gender differences can be found in the use of telephones. Women see their cellphones as a means of expression and social communication, while men tend to use it just as interactive toys. Some men view the cellphone as a status symbol - in competition with other men and most of them high-tech toys and even using cellphones to seduce the opposite sex. The study found the two types of cellphone users-”innite” who use their cellphones discreetly and “outies” which are stronger and less interested in the people around them.

Cellphones are often used by younger generation to send SMS by typing with their thumbs on the mobile phone’s keyboard. This has had profound effect on how teens use their thumb. Thumb skill has improved to such an extent that some teenagers and even point now ring door-bells with their thumb instead of their finger. The use of these two way text messaging devices also resulted in “the generation of the text,” a language of abbreviations which is understood by the youth of the world.

However, cellphones are not just for young man. Cellphone has made long-distance communications easy. Mobile phones that place calls around the world have made the world into global village. They help people of all generations across cultural boundaries and physical. Mobile technologies, particularly the use of cellphones have become an internal part of today’s worldwide life.

Thank you marcosi that remind me in comment to Charge cellphone while you walking post about possibility using hydrogen for powered cellphones.

Today I want to tell more about this technology. When metal and water react water molecules is cracking produced hydrogen gas. This proccess set in special fueling station and after inserted in metal-hydride container on cellphone. Molecules of hydrogen started pass through membranes in fuel cell and electrons are stripped away and get diverted to run the cellphone.

There some various technologies for receive power form water. Fuel cells developed by Angstrom Power and Motorola cellphone company need the methanol to produced hydrogen. In fuel cells announced by Samsung gas reacts with the oxygen in air thus allow using only water for generate power. Samsung’s micro fuel cell can generate up to 3 watts of the electricity that enough to turn on cellphone.

Employment of hydrogen as source of power permit never purchase new fuel feedstock, you can just get it from faucet with water. Cellphone runs on hydrogen fuel cells are expected to public using by 2010 year.

Scientists have found that energy from movement of the knees has the potential to generate enough electricity from walking to charge your cellphone and created machine capturing knee brace cumulate new energy while you walk.

During the tests six volunteers wore this brace on their knees and walking by treadmill at 2.2 miles per hour. Each of them can produced about 5 watts of electrical power. That quantity of energy enough for run 10 cellphones simultaneously.

Report of this test reveals that in mode in which the capturing brace is only activated while the knee is braking, the subjects required less than 1 watt of extra metabolic power for each watt of electrical power they generated.

Director of the Locomotion Laboratory at Simon Fraser University in Canada Max Donelan said: “Since muscles are the powerhouses of the body, my colleagues and I designed our device to generate electricity from the motion of the knee joint. It resembles a knee brace and weighs about 1.5 kilograms [3.3 pounds] including the gearing and generator.”

This device capturing the energy of movements by coupling an electrical generator to knee motion. When wearer extends the knee, a gear on the device turns and spins generator which builds up energy if knee is flexed, the device turns off so as not to tax the wearer. The machine senses motion and knows when to activate itself.

This construction allow use device without expending much additional energy beyond the normal demands of walking and would be helpful for hikers, soldiers and other people whose lives depend on portable energy.

When will be created lighter version of this device, it can be used in everyday life for charging cellphone and other portable devices.
